TTWS: Part of the Video Revolution!

Check out City Paper's roundup of Philly based videos.
Then, watch ours.

TTWS: Gone Fishin'/Jojo: Goin' Coconuts!

Dear World:
How's it going? Yeah, yeah, we know: It's been quiet. A little too quiet, right? Fear not: There is Trouble With Sweeney news. Some of you may have already read or heard about it, but to clarify and clue everybody in: TTWS is officially on hiatus. But not like The Police are on hiatus more like how, uh, The Sopranos is on hiatus. But not even that bad. Seriously. Basically, the deal is this: After a long run of non-stop craziness, the group is leaning back and doing the rockaway while Jojo whips up his solo album, the tunes for which are all mostly written and arranged.
What the hell is the deal with this, you ask? Oh man, get a load: Basically, dude has gone R&B or at least as close to R&B as a Fishtown boy can get. Utilizing a lineup of electric piano, drums and Jojo on electric bass (again with the Sting! Holy shit, this is not looking good.), the whole thing is Jojo trying to channel Roberta Flack and Laura Nyro by way of U2.
So as that is gearing up, there are gigs. Tons of them. New songs, new faces. Depending on what night you go out and in what city, you'll see Ray Ketchum (Elk City), Brian Christinzio (BC Camplight, Bill Ricchini), Mike Glaser and man, apples never fall far from the tree around here, TTWS's own Charlie Hall.
So come out. Philly people, check out the new jawn at the World Cafe Live/215 Festival show this Friday, and at the Rock 'n' Roll Carnival this Sunday at the Rotunda. CMJers get two chances to see Jojo: one all by his lonesome (at Southpaw), and one with dudes (Alphabet Lounge). The new songs are fantastic and man, that lost weekend is turning into a lost winter. Let's go: Fly into the mystery.

Fishtown Briefcase: The hits keep comin'!

Dear World: Thanks so much for the positive response the 'Case has been getting this far: reviews left and right, tons of spins on college radio (we just heard it jumped from #183 to #100 on the CMJ 200!) and weird, nice surfacings in the blogosphere.

All of that is great, but honestly? Whatever. TTWS is playing LEBOWSKIFEST. Click here for more info.

This is surely a feather in our cap, as The Big Lebowski has been the TTWS movie of choice since our inception, The only thing we could imagine being better or more appropriate would be playing some kind of Harold & Maude reunion party, but even that might be sullied by how weird Bud Cort looks nowadays.

We'll have fall dates to announce soon, but don't forget to check out Jojo this week as he embarks on his solo East Coast Ghost Tour with Pleasant Grove. See Gigs for dates.

iTunes is now carrying Fishtown Briefcase, and it's cheap as hell, dawg.
